Perpetrators of abuse conjure-up everything they can to gain sympathy and support for their crimes as Israel has done in claiming self-defense, portraying themselves as a victim. Israel is not the victim here!
Israeli extremists want to ignore the decades of crimes they’ve perpetrated against the Palestinian people - mostly innocent people who just want to live their lives and raise their children in peace. They deny the fact that the occupation of Palestinian territories is the underlying cause of the decades-long conflict. They call anyone a “terrorist” who pushes-back against their fanatic desire for total domination of all Palestinian land. Israeli extremists are the main cause of the current terror and horror in Gaza. As any criminal mind would do however, Israel demonizes and blames the Palestinians.
The tide of anti-Semitism is rising around the world once again, brought on in large part by the violent extremism of Israeli fanatics. Anti-Semitic sentiments will cause further acts of violence against peace loving Jews in the same way anti-Arab sentiments have caused so many deaths for innocent Arabs. As well, anti-American sentiments are on the rise. Many forget why the 9/11 hijackers attacked the Twin Towers. When the 9/11 Commission asked the FBI, Special Agent James Fitzgerald explained, “I believe they feel a sense of outrage against the United States. They identify with the Palestinian problem. They identify with people who oppose oppressive regimes. And I believe they tend to focus their anger on the United States.”
It is shameful that U.S. leaders and Washington State decision-makers like Senators Patty Murray and Maria Cantwell, and Congressman Rick Larsen, unconditionally support Israel by sending ongoing monetary and military support. Such leaders are complicit in the murder of innocent Palestinian civilians. Shame on my species.
