We have one of our monthly statewide coalition protests coming up this Saturday in at what is often described as Maine’s busiest intersection, Woodford’s Corner. We changed the date so as not to compete with Pride celebrations the previous Saturday in Portland. We will not be changing the date based on Orange Man Bad rallies. Focusing on personalities will do nothing to save Palestinians being exterminated by the U.S.-Israel right now, funded by us. Democrat or Republican in the White House makes no difference in the empire's starvation of babies in Gaza.
And do not get back to me with assurances that “No Kings” is grassroots organizing. That masses of people disagree with the current administration’s policies both domestically and abroad I do not doubt. But if you cannot smell the big money behind the slick promotion of Saturday rallies designed to drum up votes for the midterm elections next year, you may have a head cold.

The evil empire 100% deserves our criticism and real resistance: war tax resistance, marching in the thousands to the Gaza border, banner drops, graduation protests, and the like. It deserved this under the auto-pen administration of senile Joe Biden, and under the charismatically evil administration of Barack Obama. Also under the administration of the doofus George W. Bush, but that’s going back to the time before the chart of ICE funding shared above begins. Bush presided over the hasty passage of a bipartisan bill to create ICE and concurrently slash our civil liberties. That 47’s (second) administration is now taking advantage of these opportunities is not shocking; it was entirely predictable.

What led to its predecessor, the odious “Patriot” Act, now being invoked to nationalize the California National Guard and call in the U.S. Marines to quell the massive anti-ICE demonstrations by workers in Los Angeles? The “terrorist” attacks of 9/11/01 of course.
I’ve just finished a long investigative piece on another false flag operation, one that has always puzzled me: Israel’s bombing of the USS Liberty in 1967 and the profound absence of a U.S. response. It illuminates an answer to the question: Just how evil is the evil empire? And a related one for our times: Just how aligned are the U.S. and Israel in fomenting the evils thereof?
Even the title of Jeremy Kuzmarov’s “State of Israel and Lyndon B Johnson Deliberately Murdered 34 American Sailors in 1967, Fabricated Massive Cover-Up Still in Effect After 58 Years” verges on too long, didn’t read so I’ll sum it up. The U.S. and Israel conspired to sink the spy ship USS Liberty in order to frame Egypt for the crime during the Six Day War. Pretty evil, right? But it gets much worse. The purpose of the failed false flag operation (failed when the ship didn’t sink with all aboard, because dead men tell no tales) was to provide the pretext for a nuclear attack on Egypt and/or possibly their supporter the USSR.
A plot so evil it takes my breath away. It also provides context for the slaughter of Israelis by Israelis on October 7, 2023 and on the evil response: the starvation and attempted annihilation of the Arab population of Gaza.
