My Wife’s dad was at Normandy Beach he wasn’t very tall, but he made up for it with his tenacious fight. Awarded a CIB (Combat Infantryman Badge) and the Purple Heart. Joe was a good man, but got out when he saw the Country going to the Korean War, or Conflict!! I didn’t blame him one bit there. He almost drowned storming the Beach he told me, but his Buddy’s pulled him up. He never as they say talked about it much, but he gave me some Nazi War mementos he collected off some Gestapo Officers they came in contact with trying to escape. I can’t believe there is a market for these things. I keep mine in my “Shadow Box” in my Office at home. Anyway I think we had to stop Nazism back then and still do. Joe is at eternal rest now. Like most of our Greatest Generation. I can only be hopeful that we never have a WW lll because as Einstein said I don’t know what kind of sophisticated weapons will be used to fight WWlll, but I know WWIV will be fought with Sticks & Stones!!
